Sponsored Product Review: Kidecals

Not too long ago I was offered to review some of the Kidecal products and honestly, I was pretty excited to work with them because I was already a fan of their stuff. Like with all reviews on Mama Mermaid, I only want to share with my readers items I would personally endorse.

Kidecals offers an amazing selection of personalized labels and stickers particularly for kids and babies. These labels are really durable and particularly useful for putting on things your child typically takes to school or daycare.  If only I had known about this company back in the days of scribbling Rose’s name on her bottles for daycare!

A couple of my favorites from their site were the canning and chalkboardlabels, these would be perfect for homemade Christmas gifts (think jams or sugar scrubs!)

I personally picked up a set of their colorful keycals because my laptop was in need of a little makeover. And I love it! Like I said before, these stickers are very durable. Another bonus is that they don’t leave any residue on the keys when you take them off. There are a lot of different choices too!

Got Conscious Box? A product review and gift for Mama Mermaid readers

My interest was piqued recently when I got an email from the lovely folks of Conscious Box about their environmentally-friendly products. When they offered to send me a sample of their subscription box service to review, you bet I said yes! I was pretty delighted when it got here as it lived up to the hype.

I appreciated the variety of products and that each one seemed very thoughtfully chosen. This is a company that certainly seems to stand by their message of bringing quality sustainable products to their clients. The Motherlove diaper cream sample was a favorite of mine (Motherlove products in general are awesome!) as was the raspberry tea from Stash (yum!)

I also liked the versatility of the subscription box feature. If you do decide to get the monthly subscription, you can customize how many months you want to receive it as well the box’s content such as including only vegan or gluten-free products. And as a gift Conscious Box is giving Mama Mermaid readers  a 25% discount for their subscription service if you use the Coupon Code: LOVELIFE. Go check it out yourself!

Mei Tai & MobyWrap review

"Another one?" Stephen asked, quirking an eyebrow as I gleefully unwrapped my newest package. A beautiful mei tai baby carrier. Asthetically, I was in love at first sight with the canvas material and pretty floral design. It was understated and unlike the Mobywrap, not nearly as daunting.

Stephen tends to just shake his head when it comes to my weird "hippy" tendencies, like oh...carrying Rosie around the house in the mei tai or implimenting cloth diapers. But that's whatever, the point I'm trying to make is I love this thing!

mama's little koala bear.

The biggest problem I found with the Mobywrap is that it was just such a hassle. I'd get tangled in the cloth trying to wrap it around and if I didn't have a second person to help me it was near impossible to get it to sit right. It is such a pity because I love the simplicity of the Moby's look. The second problem with the Mobywrap is that it gets very hot for both baby & mama because of it's thick material. This is a no-go down here in Texas where the summer days are typically a crispy 100 degrees or more.

With the meitai, there is a lot les material so it's more comfortable. The straps are easy to adjust and best of all I don't need a second person to help. Even me, clumsiest person around, can swiftly tie the straps in place. There are tons and tons of designs and brands that make mei tai's. I got mine from here but some of the more popular brands are Kozy and BabyHawk.

Yummy Earth Lolipops

With nausea in full swing lately all day every day, I was beginning to think that there wasn't going to be any chance of curbing the frequent visits to the porcelain wishing-well. But on a recent Whole Foods run I came across these delicous treats:

Yummy Earth Lolipops are organic candies that come in a variety of flavors like Sour Apple, Pomegranate. Blueberry, Cherry, Watermelon, Mango, Grape and Strawberry. Best of all? It's all natural. No artificial-coloring and it is made with real fruit extract. As far as I can see, these candies are also vegan.

Another cool thing about these lolipops is that they were created by a couple dads who wanted to create chemical-free candy they could be confident in giving their own children. Pretty cool, huh? These definitely get an A+ in my book.
