she isn't called seƱorita chubby cheeks for nothing
I am excited (and daresay a little nervous) for our upcoming travel plans. We are going to Michigan for a visit soon! I haven't been back home in ages and I can't wait to see family and friends. I am also looking forward for bundling Rosie up and letting her hopefully get the chance to play in the snow! (You heard me Michigan, we want snow...!)
This is going to be my first time flying with Rose and that is what has me nervous. She is one squirmy baby mermaid but I'm keeping my fingers crossed she will just fall asleep along the way since the flight is at her bedtime. If not I'm sure my arsenal of baby apps, a few fun toys and some snacks will do the trick. As scared as I am of flying with an infant, travelling is really something I want us to do as a family so really there is no better time then to start now. We gotta practice for when we travel the world someday ;)
In preparation of our travels I went to the thrift store in search of some winter gear for the baby and really lucked out. I scored 6+ outfits for 50 cents each...including a brand new parka from BabyGap! Apparently the thrift gods were smiling upon me today because that was exactly what I needed. Now's all that is left to do is figure how to pack as little as possible. I will be damned if I pay tons of money for checked baggage so I am shooting for one carry-on if I can manage. We'll see how it all goes!
Congrats, dude! That sounds rad! I traveled across the country (Reno to Scranton) with my daughter when she was two. I brought a little craft goodie, and told her she would get a new "surprise" every time we boarded a plane, which was a lot because we took four there and four back. I also invested in a portable DVD player at Best Buy that was under $100. I had SO many people tell me on the plane that they cringed when they saw how close they were sitting next to a child, but how she was the most well behaved child they had ever been around! Score!!! Planning is key! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThat's reassuring that you guys were able to make the trip without too much stress. I think my biggest fear is that I am going to be THAT parent on the plane. The one with the screaming inconsolable baby and everyone shooting death glares. AH! But I'm going to think happy thoughts lol.
