The tree (hot pink
version!) is up, stockings have been hung and the Christmas music is blasting. I
am all around excited for the holiday season and glad I got most of my
gift-buying/making out of the way early on. Have you ever noticed that this is usually the
time bloggers list all their go-to gift guides? I figured I would shake things
up a bit and talk about things that can be easily made instead. Since Rosie’s still an infant I wanted to keep things
simple—after all she is going to be more excited over boxes and tissue paper
than some Land of Nod doll anyways. I came up with a few ideas (specifically
for babies) and thought I’d share!
- Sensory bottles: I got the idea from a project the kids at daycare had. Filling up old bottles with buttons or rice. Or using food coloring and water to make some funky ones too.
- Photo mobile: Something like this can easily be put together and put over the changing table. I really need to try this because usually diaper changes are about as fun as wrestling an alligator.
- Boxes: Various sizes with fabrics of different textures to play with inside.
- Finger puppets: Doesn’t require a whole lot of sewing skills (which is good thing because I fail big time in that department) and could make story time lots of fun.
- Baby-friendly Family book.
I’ll be sure to update with pictures as I try some of these projects
out. =)
