Drinking More Water



Last week I quit drinking coffee and guess what? I FEEL GREAT!  I wouldn’t say I really drank a lot, maybe one or two (or three….four) cups a day. But the problem was I wasn’t drinking enough water and felt really sluggish without the coffee. I was watching Forks Over Knives recently and the documentary talked about how so many of us mask our daily fatigue with caffeine (soda, coffee, energy drinks) without actually treating the underlying cause. For me it was dehydration. I have always had a hard time convincing myself to drink more water but finding the right reusable water bottle has made a difference. I have been using the bobble since it has a built in filter and is the perfect size. I liked it so much I got one for Sommer to take with her to school and have been tempted to get one for Rosie also since she seems to have claimed mine.

So far I have been feeling so much better and healthier now that I have been drinking more water. The post-caffeine jitters I had come to dread have now been replaced with this awesome energy that lasts me all day.  There are seriously a lot of benefits to drinking water like clearer skin (check) and more energy (double check)! Not only that it helps flush out toxins in your body and helps with colon and kidney function. So drink up!
