Just another day in the life of a psych student

"Knowledge will bring you the opportunity to make a difference."- Claire Fagin
I am in the final stretch for a few of my classes this week which means I should be buckling down and studying my butt off. Usually I love going to school but sometimes my motivation wanes, particularly when I think about how many years of schooling are ahead of me before I can even think about working in that field. It can be a little disheartening. It's always said that anything worthwhile takes a lot of work but that doesn't make the road any less difficult to walk.

But what keeps me going is the knowledge that I am mapping out and laying the foundation to a better quality life for my family and me. And even while I go to school I am pursuing other interests, exploring other options. I have recently reconnected with my artistic side and it feels so good. I am very much a creative person and when I don't nurture that part of my identity every other part of me feels the impact. So I'm drawing lots, painting lots and just trying to seek out inspiration.
In other news...
Registering for more classes next semester (wohoo):
Psychology of Combat
Psychology of Terrorism
Professional Careers and Education in Psychology

I am excited for the course on terrorism in particular. It isn't offered very often so I jumped on the opportunity to take it when I saw there were still openings. Even if I don't think I will ever use it with my career path, I can appreciate learning something new (and well, it's required).

Anyways, that's all for now. Back to our regular schedule of cute babies and hippie mama musings.
