Autumn Brings Stillness

I wish I could learn to love every season but the truth of the matter is that Autumn will always have my heart. After months of unforgiving and quite frankly, brutal, summertime heat the months of fall bring the promise of cool crisp air and wool socks. It makes me savor that morning cup of coffee (slowly being replaced with tea) more and gives me my freedom back. Yes, freedom. I am just simply not equipped to handle Texas in the Summer and feel often sequestered to the indoors when I would much rather be hiking or hanging out in the park.

Michigan has spoiled me with it's late Augusts because it always means fresh cider and cinnamon donuts from Yates and what I like to call long-sleeve-and-scarf-weather. Texas doesn't quite offer the same things as my beloved homestate but I will settle for the beauty of the thunderstorms and drop in temperature.
