By the Sea

So we woke up early yesterday, grabbed some towels and hit the road for a somewhat spontaneous trip to the sea. It's about a two hour drive but it is so worth it! The smell of the salt air, the waves, it's home for me. I've spent almost half my life by the beach and honestly, I think it will always be my favorite place to be. Admittedly one of the biggest reasons we went on our journey was for some fresh seafood.

Almost four years ago Stephen and I came to North Padre on our first real vacation together. Yesterday we ate at the very same restaurant we had stopped at before only now with someone special tagging along:

It was really humid but so much fun. After lunch we visited the Lexington, hit up the NEX on base and spent sometime hanging out around the beach. Rosie did fairly well, giving a gummy smile to just about everyone. The only time she got upset was when we didn't share our food with her. Sorry sweetpea, grow some teeth and then we'll talk about what's on the menu.

Fresh snapper. It was just what the foodie in me had been craving!

I can't wait for our next adventure.
