If you’re anything like me, the moment you saw those double lines it felt as if the world as you knew it had just turned upside down. I took three tests before I really could believe the truth yelling back at me on those little pee-sticks: “Surprise, you’re going to be a mama!” Many things went through my head. Shock, fear, goodbye-to-my-cosmo’s, and yes, excitement.
Fast forward a couple months later and here I am, on the cusp of my first prenatal appointment (wohoo!) and while no less nervous, a lot more excited for this new adventure. I even made my first trip to a baby consignment store and of course I was just looking for now, but it definitely was one of those experiences that made motherhood a little bit more “real” for me.
