Stories through the Walls

Adorning the back alley's of homes and building are roughly 600 murals. A total sensory feast. I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon wandering around a part of San Francisco that is in itself a self-contained little universe. And once you've satisfied your artistic side, stop off at one of the many quaint restaraunts for some horchata and enchiladas!

Murals have always fascinated me in their overwhelming presence. Even grafitti, in the hasty splatter of spray paint. And the street art of San Francisco is no different in capturing my interest. Except unlike the normal gang grafitti you might find in a city, the city blocks of images tell a story of the people who live there. Their struggles, their dreams, the world from their eyes.
